giyuu wasn't entirely sure what he was expecting to hear when he asked yams about his previous experience and now... the way that yams died back at the castle is not unlike something that he wouldn't have done under different circumstances. it's not hard for certain faces to come across his mind in terms of who he'd stick his neck out for.
anything to protect them. to let himself be killed by someone important to him though? that's a step too far but he can understand it in a way...depending on a person's connection. ]

Well, that place was under Tora-kun and Ryuu-kun's control, kind of. After things started falling apart, Ryuu-kun wrote us a letter and said that she'd use the magic to bring us back, though at the time, it wasn't enough to revive us and let the living go home, too. It wasn't until later that that happened... we had three teams there, too, and all of them needed to be even.
[Which is yet another reason he was willing to kill, here--if it was a similar situation, then blood needed to be spilled regardless of his personal motivations.
He smiles a little, soft and sad.]
Okita-kun and Sanji-kun sacrificed themselves so that we could have our happy ending.
[It was very temporary for both of them, but they'd had no true guarantee that the plan would work. He'd been so terrified that it wouldn't. That, too, probably explains why he's stuck so close to Sanji, in this place.]
