to say that it cheered him up would be a bold statement to make. what it definitely succeeds in doing is leaving giyuu completely speechless. the weather is awful and reflects much of what he feels around him but something about the memory... he feels distressed as it happens but once it's over.
[ it's as fond as any giyuu memory to be, honestly...? all of the softer and light-hearted memories are ones that he doesn't have. nevertheless the face that yams can enjoy that over some of his other memories is a good thing.

he'll stop rocking himself to look up at yams when he approaches, not missing the care he's taking to his sword. it's really undeserved but...he'll allow it. he doesn't make more of a scene than he already has. ]

Yasusada was trapped for eight full weeks at the castle, though, even if he spent five of them dead, so he's fully expecting that there's more to come. He's not cynical, but he's more of a realist than most would assume, given how strongly he clings to denial and daydreams when it comes to things he absolutely can't accept.

After things started falling apart, Ryuu-kun wrote us a letter and said that she'd use the magic to bring us back, though at the time, it wasn't enough to revive us and let the living go home, too. It wasn't until later that that happened... we had three teams there, too, and all of them needed to be even.
[Which is yet another reason he was willing to kill, here--if it was a similar situation, then blood needed to be spilled regardless of his personal motivations.
