[Let's say Yasusada was distracted spraying himself in the eyeballs with shampoo and that's why he didn't hunt down Tonbo immediately
BUT ANYWAY here he is!! Dressed like normal again, save for his missing armor--the scrunchie is still in his hair, too, because he can't be bothered to take it down again. He's been wandering around, trying all the doors just to see what opens, so HERE HE IS at fish cabin, trying the doorknob. KNOCK KNOCK BUDDY]
ANYWAYS, HI. HELLO. Tonbo's here in his internal affairs robes, blinking surprised eyes at his fellow sword when he answers the (surprisingly empty! wow!) cabin door ]
[Yasusada looks--oddly startled to see him, his eyes darting over Tonbokiri's face, like he might be able to recognize something off. He, of course, finds nothing, but that doesn't put him at ease.]
[Well, inside he goes. Once Tonbokiri closes the door and turns around, though, his hand goes to the hilt of his sword, ready. He doesn't draw it, though, and he doesn't seem tense, or frightened.]
Tonbokiri-san, the demons... are they still bothering you? Can I... [Help, he wants to say, but the only way he knows how to help is. Well.]
Anyway here's a pompom sword! He's coming to find Tonbokiri, probably straight from the fields, since that's where he's been spending a good chunk of his time.]
Tonbokiri-san! How are you doing?
[Probably none of them can say "oh I'm great thanks", but, y'know.]
[It's perfectly understandable. Part of the reason Yasusada's thrown himself into fieldwork, despite the rain, is to focus on doing something. Helplessness isn't something he handles well.]
Wherever he is, Yasusada is going to come find him!! He's still sniffling, but at least his cold is a fairly mild one. Also Majima yelled at him so he presumably won't sneeze on Tonbokiri's face.]
Yasusada disappears almost as soon as the execution is over--first towards the cabins, then into the forest, sword in hand. Apparently, he currently doesn't care about his broken arm, since he's gone for a while. When he does return, he's clearly been snowed on and sweating simultaneously, but he hasn't injured himself further, and he looks calmer. Still distraught, but he's not buzzing with wild energy.]
[ meanwhile, tonbo just ended up finding a quiet spot to meditate and honestly looks more snowman than spear but it's fine? he's fine. ]
Yamatonokami.
[ he's solemn but there's still a hint of mother hen mode activated at the sight of him. don't catch a cold yams!! is your arm alright?? come sit down before you fall down >:[!!! ]
[This is why Tonbokiri is in charge (I say, as if the swords are even capable of getting each other under control).
Yasusada trudges over to him, though, and he does plop down, somewhat unsteady. He'll try asking one of the directors to fix his arm later, but for now, he just tilts his head back, staring up at the sky.]
[ he's technically in charge but even tonbo would rather have someone else in the lead at times like this. ]
Mm, neither do I.
[ he wants the 'stab everything' route but he also doesn't wish to murder innocents? it's a bad time to be a sword. yams however gets the big scarf he wore at trial wrapped around his shoulders, tonbo quietly fussing if to just give himself something to do ]
Following these rules is certainly becoming quite the nuisance.
[IT'S FINE WE'RE FINE EVERYTHING IS not fine oh my god what a shitshow.
Yasusada is also not fine--he looks mostly okay when Tonbokiri comes to find him, but the sight of Nami... well. That's the one thing that makes tears well up in his eyes again. He sets his Okita doll carefully to the side before he reaches out through the bars for her.]
Nami-san, I'm so sorry. And thank you. [She helped!!! TIGERS ARE THE ONLY VALID TYPE OF CAT. He looks up at Tonbokiri, too.] Thank you for bringing her.
[Well, at some point, Yasusada is going to come find Tonbokiri! He looks pretty hesitant as he does, wolf tail curled around his leg as he approaches wherever Tonbokiri might be. Like he doesn't quite know how they're meant to interact, now.]
[ tonbo's just looking lost into the distance when yams finds him so he starts a little and then looks mad at himself for it. it's fine. he's fine. he's absolutely not panicking!! even if his welcoming smile looks a little more like a grimace ]
[Is it? Well, probably. He nods, but it's a little reluctant, even though he approaches. He doesn't like seeing Tonbokiri like this, but he can't just let it go, either.]
...Tonbokiri-san. [He repeats it, softer, a little more sadness in his tone. He looks a little lost, like he doesn't know where to start.]
[ the smile fades and eventually, it just turns sad. for all that he did these past few weeks, making sure it was even possible to get this far, he really wasn't thinking too hard on the fallout afterward, huh!! ]

It’s been quite a week, hasn’t it?
no subject
Yes, it has. [And not in a good way.
But, that said--]
Lili-kun was right. The fog cleared, a little.
no subject
Ah? ...Mm, I suppose there's more of the camp available to explore now.

Should you not be resting?
[ he pats the seat next to him though. at least in front of the fire is Warm ]

I'm alright. I'll go back to my cabin soon.
[He'll sit, and let the fire warm him up. It's pretty nice, actually, even though he's still feeling mildly feverish.]
...I'm sorry we weren't able to help today.

escortcarry yams back when he eventually starts drifting off ]It's alright. Sometimes, even with all the help we can manage, it's impossible to find the truth in such a small duration of time.
[ doesn't he know it ]
These trials are certainly unfair to everyone involved when we cannot seek the truth to its full potential.

You are quite welcome. I’m almost certain she’ll be there when you wake again but I figured it would help having her now as well.
[ guess who learned the importance of emotional support cat ]
I’m almost sad to see her go but I’m sure she’ll be much happier with her papa-san

Sanji-kun never would've put her in danger. I know that for sure.
