[This! Weekend! Sucked!

Yasusada disappears almost as soon as the execution is over--first towards the cabins, then into the forest, sword in hand. Apparently, he currently doesn't care about his broken arm, since he's gone for a while. When he does return, he's clearly been snowed on and sweating simultaneously, but he hasn't injured himself further, and he looks calmer. Still distraught, but he's not buzzing with wild energy.]

Tonbokiri-san.

[ meanwhile, tonbo just ended up finding a quiet spot to meditate and honestly looks more snowman than spear but it's fine? he's fine. ]

Yamatonokami.

[ he's solemn but there's still a hint of mother hen mode activated at the sight of him. don't catch a cold yams!! is your arm alright?? come sit down before you fall down >:[!!! ]

[This is why Tonbokiri is in charge (I say, as if the swords are even capable of getting each other under control).

Yasusada trudges over to him, though, and he does plop down, somewhat unsteady. He'll try asking one of the directors to fix his arm later, but for now, he just tilts his head back, staring up at the sky.]

I don't like it.

[None of it.]

[ he's technically in charge but even tonbo would rather have someone else in the lead at times like this. ]

Mm, neither do I.

[ he wants the 'stab everything' route but he also doesn't wish to murder innocents? it's a bad time to be a sword. yams however gets the big scarf he wore at trial wrapped around his shoulders, tonbo quietly fussing if to just give himself something to do ]

Following these rules is certainly becoming quite the nuisance.

...Yesterday, I spoke with-- [He pauses at the last second, but. Does it really matter, right now? It's not like Yasusada's discreet about his relationships, and Tonbokiri is, well. Tonbokiri.] --with Sanji-kun. We tried to figure out more about Tomioka-kun's death, even though it was too late.

[Yasusada wasn't even close to Giyuu, but he liked him, and he liked Shinobu. The fact that they couldn't figure out anything based on a death via sword already had him upset, and now...]

...But the executions won't even let them fight properly.

[ it's okay Sanji's his camp wife. ....which actually makes yams their other kid, doesn' it? hm. ]

Whatever occurred was far more quietly done than I've ever seen before.

[ a part of him is reeling at how sneaky some of these deaths have been, and how far more fitting it'd be for a wakizashi completing a job than a murder out of necessity. ]

.......But I do have to say, for all I do not like this concept as a whole, these executions disgust me the most.

[ it feels like people brawling for their right to exist than a proper fight and honestly? it sleeves him out terribly. ]

We think it might've been someone larger than him. Strong enough to send him through the window, and disarm him. [Which doesn't help at all because even though Giyuu is not pocket-sized, this camp is apparently full of giants.

He looks at Tonbokiri for a minute, then, like he wants to say something more--but then he shakes his head, drawing his legs up.]

...I feel like it would be kinder to kill them ourselves. ["Them" isn't anyone in particular; it's just a sentiment he's expressed before. Making people fight for their lives while others are forced to watch is bad enough, but when it's like this, it's so much worse.] I know Lili-kun and the others still want to find a way to break the game, but...

[But the more the weeks pass, the more worried he gets. They've already jumped from one murderer a week to... however many they're dealing with this time. Who's to say things won't get worse, as people grow more desperate?]

Given the items that people have, it's hard to say.

[ he's honestly expecting to find out it was one of their twinks tbh ]

There is so much trickery to be found, even I feel as if I cannot keep up with things anymore.

[ he's tired, fam. but he pauses there, looking up to the sky for a moment ]

If that were possible then yes, I believe such as well. The others would perhaps not see it that way but then they believe us far more human than we are.

[ a wry smile form and he chuckles quietly at their continued misconception. it doesn't really bother him too much but it certainly won't end well given this game they're trapped in. ]

But if Lili and the others can find a way to alter this game, we'll have to do our best to keep them safe.

"They believe us far more human than we are", though. That... that's really the truth of it, isn't it? He'd stayed his hand at the castle, but it was only because of Okita. Even now, when he understands the purpose behind it, he thinks the way the game played out was distasteful.]

I want to believe in them. But it's difficult. [It isn't that he's cynical--but the world they come from, the history they've lived through, isn't kind enough to offer magical resurrections. Even for spirits like them, who can be fixed and found and forged anew, it's not the same.]

[ just!! use!! weapons!! all three of them are Right There after all. ]

Mm, it's true. There's so much that can go wrong even with all the answers and possibilities our hands. [ JUST ASK HIM, HE KNOWS FIRSTHAND. haha!! ] All we can truly do is trust in those who have the means to discover more.

[ which is terrible. he just wants to stab the enemy, not everyone here :( ]

[It really is terrible. Sure, they're weapons--perfectly capable of divorcing emotion from battle if they must. But that doesn't mean they don't feel it. Even Yasusada, as violent and wild as he can be, would struggle with some deaths far more than others.]

Tonbokiri-san, do you know... Lili-kun and Dick-san. How do they know so much? Is it the directors?

[ even he has a few hard Absolutely Not's but if it ever comes to that.......... they are weapons meant for battle. ]

Dick was from the ship with me. Lili with Ookurikara. Both have their own methods but I believe them both to be very good at discovering secrets by their own means.

[ and yes, that also includes harassing the directors ]

[Tonbokiri has Dick, Ookurikara has Lili... and Yasusada, if nothing else, isn't totally alone. There are worse things.]

Having someone like that to rely on... it's nice.

It certainly would be much more difficult without them here.

[ he feels bad that the Okita yams had isn't here and around? but- ]

I suppose Sanji-san would count?

Sanji-kun...

[Yasusada's quiet, then, staring at the snow on the ground. It's difficult to describe how he feels about Sanji--but that's mostly because of the way Yasusada himself sees all of his relationships.]

Sanji-kun is the person I trust the most here. [Sorry, Tonbo. You're up on his list too!! But--] I asked him to look after Okita-kun, after I died in the castle. It was thanks to Sanji-kun and Okita-kun that we were able to have a happy ending.

[So, really, Sanji is the only other person here who has a strong connection to Okita. That probably explains a lot--Sanji is more-or-less his Hijikata. In a place where Okita's happiness and safety hang in the balance, it's something he sorely needs.]

[ tonbo isn't offended at all, more glad that he had somebody to rely on so strongly in his time at the castle ]

He is quite reliable, that Sanji. I'm glad you have him.

[ who knows what tonbo would have done without any of his most important people from the ship being here. without those to count on, tonbo can only imagine how the past few weeks could have gone worse. ]
