He's around Lili-kun a lot, though. Not all the time, but--it would upset her, and that would upset a lot of other people, too. [A domino effect. She's his emotional protection, and he's her physical shield. None of that will stop someone truly determined, but still.

But for Ookurikara... I worry that he'd be easy to frame. He doesn't often have other people to stand up for him, besides Lili-kun. [Even Yasusada's seen the wisdom of having someone vouch for him that isn't, like, a sword. Or Sanji.]
I think so, too. I doubt anyone who's trying to cause the least waves possible would ever target him.

He's not the kind for secrets, and he has no interest in going along with the competition. I may not know him that well, but that much is obvious from talking to him at all. Of course, I guess therein lies the problem-- if he doesn't talk to people too much, they won't be able to make up their mind about him.
[It's true--most people probably know that Ookurikara isn't the type to go along with things like this, if he doesn't want to. But at the same time...]
I don't think he's the type to explain himself, if he falls under suspicion. "If you don't believe me, that's your problem", you know? [Ookurikara wouldn't plead his case, is what he means.] He doesn't care what other people think of him.
[And a lot of people take Lili at her word, but what if one day, that isn't enough? The other swords may not be Shinsengumi, but Yasusada cares about them too.]
Then he'll have to learn to care. Guy and Ogata both shut down and didn't try to argue for themselves that much-- and we saw what happened there. [ unfortunately ] Ookurikara wants to solve things as much as we do. Hopefully that's enough to convince him to help clear his name if he's being framed as much as possible.
