--But yeah seriously, what the heck?? If Kashuu wasn't holding the pin he probably would've forgotten about it already, good job Yamato... here he is, though, bouncing on the balls of his feet and waiting impatiently.]

[HE SAYS and then reaches forward to slide the clip into place and-- promptly pauses for a second, looks vaguely surprised out of nowhere, and nearly drops it instead.

It's probably as good as sign as any that he just had a fun and fancy memory regain!! Which was just basically the same clip-gifting scene Yamato had described from earlier, though from his own point of view.

Welp.

...At least it wasn't anything traumatic, he thinks, and promptly also thinks why is this the life I'm living where I measure weird memory blips by how much blood they involve. In any case, he moves on pretty quickly to finish securing it.]

--but Yamato's spared from having to complain about the clip ~~that he kinda asked Kashuu to put in his hair in the first place, okay yams~~ by that look on his face, one that shuts him up immediately. Even Yamato isn't so oblivious that he'd miss that expression, and he knows all too well what it means by now. So even as Kashuu shakes it off and puts the pin in his hair, he stares with a furrowed brow and worried eyes.]

Kiyomitsu? Is everything okay? ["What did you see?" he doesn't ask, if only because he knows there's a 50/50 chance Kashuu won't want to tell him, and he doesn't want to ruin their day with tension already.]

[Ah, he made Yamato worried... He needs to work on his memory regain pokerface, which is sometimes Great and sometimes Too Transparent.

In any case, apparently today is the benevolent side of the 50% chance.]

Yeah, I'm fine. [He pats Yamato's hair smooth as a final check for stray hairs sticking out and a mild apology for being worrisome at the same time.] I just remembered giving you this thing before, is all.

[YOU'LL NEVER FOOL HIM, KASHUU!!! But that's definitely a mild memory--a pleasant one, even, and Yamato relaxes with a smile, tilting his head like he's trying to see the clip.]

So it's not too cute for me after all, huh? [Which is basically asking Kashuu to go "ON SECOND THOUGHT YEAH" and yank it out, but it's too early to be a punk, so he's giving Kashuu the benefit of the doubt.]

I'm glad you remembered. [Even now, Yamato rarely refers to these visions as memories, still not entirely convinced that that's what they've got to be--for this kind of thing, though, he'll accept it.] All this stuff, it's not so scary if it means you've always been there too, you know?

[FOREVER EMBARRASSING-- and Yamato's regain pokerface is better than Kashuu's, apparently, since there's nothing to give away the way he'd felt, waiting for Kashuu for so, so long, trapped and forgotten and completely alone until he'd figured out on his own that Kashuu wasn't coming back. All that shows on his face is a content little smile, because if Yamato's good at anything, it's fixating--on the good as well as the bad.]

But that's enough of that, because apparently Kashuu's tsuntsun charged up his inner battery, so now that his hair's fixed, he grabs Kashuu's arm and tugs him out of the room.]

[WHAT A PUNK!! Kashuu reaches out to slappyhands his hand away, but lets himself be tugged out of the room anyway. An energetic Yamato is a cute Yamato... sometimes. Sometimes it just makes him want to die.]

Try being this energetic when you first wake up, why don't you? Save me the trouble of having to deal with you when you're half asleep.

[HUFFS AND PUFFS and grabs the beach bag he'd set up earlier with everything they both need that Yamato would probably foolishly forget if left to his own devices.]

Luckily Yamato's either too oblivious to tease, or he just doesn't care about Kashuu sad attempts at tsunning, because he's quick to slip into his shoes and bounce impatiently on the balls of his feet. Will he let go once they're outside or will he just keep on dragging Kashuu around like this until they get to the beach, only time will tell...]

Don't wake me up so early all the time then! [He says, as if he's ever not a zombie regardless of the time of day it is.] Or we could go to the beach more often, I guess.

[Now that it's warmer... the outdoors are a pretty strong incentive for pompoms, after all.]

[Maybe he's thinking of himself, though. ANYWAY after adjusting the bag and making sure to lock the door behind him, AWAY HE GOES... He doesn't bother trying to shake free of Yamato's grasp if he's still clinging, so if he doesn't let go, apparently they're just walking to the beach this way.]

And if being a barnacle is also fine, then yep, they sure are heading to the beach just like this. Yamato generally isn't a tactile person, but there are a select few people that he turns to when clingy tendencies emerge. Kashuu is the lucky winner of the brunt of his physical attention, so here they are...

The trip all the way through Tisse might be a long one to other people, but Yamato visits home fairly often, so it's easy to navigate the shortcuts and side streets he's grown up with, chattering away now that he's wide awake. Once they're close enough to hear the calling of sea birds, he slows a little, glancing at Kashuu.]

Do you want to stop by mom's for anything first? She probably has snacks or something.

[He sure didn't look through the bag before they left, Kashuu could have a severed foot in there for all he knows.]

[Just ROLLING HIS EYES because he knows he's right...

But AWAY THEY GO ON AN AMIABLE WALK. He gives Yamato a look when he poses that question, raising the bag up a little.]

We don't need snacks, I brought some along with us. I brought water and sunscreen, too.

[Good thing Kashuu is prepared because Yamato sure isn't.]

And look!! This is an impromptu trip, okay, how was he supposed to know the level of preparation Kashuu put into it? But if Kashuu really does have everything they need, then there's no need for detours--which is good, because he's just caught a flash of blue between two buildings, so OFF THEY GO.]

[GOD DAMMIT YAMATO there go his flipflops, flying off into oblivion as soon as they hit the sand... Good thing preparation for prom and the early timing has made the beach pretty much deserted so he's not too worried about them getting stolen but still.]

Geez, slow down—! The ocean's not going anywhere!

[AT LEAST GIVE HIM A CHANCE TO PUT THE BAG DOWN. Fortunately at this hour, the sand isn't scorching yet, either...]

[BYE FLIP-FLOP FELICIAS!!!! It's definitely a good thing they got here relatively early, though, since Yamato definitely would've dragged him onto burning hot sand and they would've had Many Regrets.

Still, even though it's not scorching, the sun is out, so sunscreen should probably be a thing... even though it's unlikely he'll get burned, and even though he sure isn't anywhere near as paranoid as Kiyomitsu "THE SUN IS A DEADLY LAZER" Kashuu, he remembers getting scolded by his mother far too many times to skip out on that important step. So even though he wants to go diving straight into the shallow waves, he sighs dramatically, slowing down.]

Well hurry up, we're going to miss out on all the prettiest shells. [Because they'll all be taken by the children who are actually children, not 21.]

[OUT THE SUNBLOCK COMES after he sets the bag down on the sand. He'll go get his boots boot shoes shoe later...

But of course even going to the beach is a struggle, and somewhere between squirting some lotion into his palm and smacking it rudely against Yamato's back, he pauses, remembering a whole assload of stupidity at once.]

[OF COURSE. But where earlier he'd been able to notice the look on Kashuu's face, this time, he freezes too. It's strange, though--aside from the memory of Kashuu fixing his hair, this is the first time anything he's seen has been, well... normal.

It's almost creepier than the monsters and blood, honestly.

Dazed, he shakes his head a little, rubbing his eyes like that'll help with anything.]

[Well, that's a first. He's heard of some other people remembering things around the same time because they're having a conversation, or one person talking and triggering memories in the other, but neither of them had even been doing anything unusual.]

Yeah... [Weird!! Sure, he has no trouble talking about how happy it makes him, thinking about the fact that they've apparently been side by side for multiple lives, but seeing it simultaneously is still...] What did you see?

Going to the beach, which is just stupid.

[He doesn't need to remember a fun day at the beach before he has a fun day at the beach!! Though there were more than just the two of them in the memory, even if he can't recall anyone else...]

[Yamato wouldn't personally call it stupid, but then, he's the one who's all about nostalgia, so of course he wouldn't. More than what he'd seen, right now, he's intrigued by how he'd felt; the ocean is always beautiful, but he doesn't think he's ever experienced that level of awe before. Not in this life.]

I did? [Well, it was awfully pretty, so that's not really surprising.] Are you sure these aren't premonitions? What if I'm supposed to find it for you on the beach today?
