[AH YES. His arm. Yasusada has the decency to look a little embarrassed about it; he's doing a better job of trying not to move it around, but it's still very easy to forget.]
I will. Human bodies are terrible. [HE HATES THIS. Let him go back to being a spirit.
...Though, that said--he glances at her, and when he speaks again, his tone is genuine and serious.]
I'm sorry we spent so much time on Nie-san. We should've tried harder to find the others.
[Like, Nie Huaisang is guilty. It isn't for Yasusada to question his motivation, but there's no getting around that fact. Still, the only deaths this week that were (potentially) purposefully obscured were Shinobu and C3PO, and he likely wasn't involved with either of those. He didn't try to frame anyone else, either. For those things alone, Yasusada's not judging Nie Huaisang as harshly as some of the others did.]
I knew it was going to turn out this way. The second they thought anything at all was wrong, they stopped trying. They'd found their target. [ it's not fair of her to say, but. she doesn't care. the rest of the camp isn't losing their best friend in the morning. ]
They did it to Ogata and they did it to Guy. It's just that this time, they picked right. [ they, like she isn't a part of this. ]
[Well, it isn't like she's wrong. He's quiet for a little bit, looking down at his feet.]
...At the castle, for the first few weeks, we caught at least one of our killers. We always had something--evidence, or confessions. [...] The first time we didn't, I spoke out of turn and scared everyone, so they chose me.
[He doesn't sound upset about it; he knew, even then, that he'd messed up. It feels like so long ago now, even though he can remember the panic and grief on Okita and Rapunzel's faces so clearly. That's not the point, though.]
I'm not used to being on this side of things. Choosing someone when there's nothing we can understand clearly. [He's a weapon; he's not really used to solving murders, either.] I think, after the way things have been here, we were just glad to find someone we could feel confident about choosing. [Not "good", because it still doesn't feel good, but.] It's not fair to Tomioka-kun or Kocho-kun.

[ a pause. ] You stay warm, too. Especially with your arm like that.
