recolle; AU info
❀ Black hair, blue eyes. 21 years old, birthday is January 10th. About 5'6" (so he'd say, though it's probably closer to 5'5.5")
❀ Grew up in Emerald Ridge, now lives in Birch Hill apartments with his childhood friend Kashuu Kiyomitsu. Mom owns and works at a tiny local bistro, dad works as a barber on a cruise ship. His mother is Japanese and his father is American--they met on the ship he works at ten years before Yamato was born, and married three years later. They moved to Recolle after Yamato's mother learned from an acquaintance about a cafe that had closed down, and decided to turn it into a bistro specializing in quick lunches, mostly Japanese fusion meals.
❀ First year at Recolle University, majors in philosophy because he doesn't give a damn and is only in school because Kashuu dragged him there...
❀ Since they are broke students in their very first apartment, Yamato has a part-time job working as a library aide in the childrens’ section. He also rides the bus around town, but he rides a bicycle to school.
❀ Has been very much All Kendo All The Time since he was kid. Still hero worships his former instructor and wants to be Just Like Him. But he's also interested in other kinds of martial arts and will basically fight you in any way if you want. Or if you're being an awful person, even if you don't want.
❀ He's not stupid but he's not a bookworm either. He does decently well in school (if he's gonna there he might as well) but growing up he often got in trouble for getting into fights, even if (in his mind at least) they were justified. EXHIBIT A.
❀ Since joining university he's less likely to just go around punching people, but if the situation calls for it he won't hesitate either.
❀ He's a total grandpa with technology, despite being 21... if ctrl+alt+delete doesn't fix his computer then he doesn't know what to do. He's also just very old-fashioned in general.
❀ He is quite interested in history, and spends a lot of his downtime at the library in the history and historical fiction sections. He also likes music, though he doesn't really get involved in the music "scene" (i.e. doesn't go to concerts or go hunting down the latest artists or anything.)
❀ Yams doesn't have much of a filter and often says exactly what's on his mind or what he's feeling without any regard for tact. Usually he isn't intentionally being rude or insensitive, but he never really stops to think about what he says.
❀ With all that being said, though, he's a very friendly, polite dude most of the time! He's happy to talk to people or offer a hand if he sees somebody needing help.
